Anti Wrinkle injections (Botulinum toxin) are injected into the intended muscle to smooth out lines and wrinkles temporarily. They target lines that are visible on movement called dynamic lines.

Anti wrinkle has many uses. Most common areas are the forehead, frown and crows feet, however can be used in the lower face including nose lines, marionette lines, chin, for a lip flip, masseter for teeth grinding (jaw slimming) and neck (Plytsmal bands). It is also used for under arm sweating which is great for excess sweating especially in the summer.

Anti wrinkle injections can not be used for lines in the cheeks for example as they would effect your smile. Other options such as micro needling, chemical peels or Sculptra a bio-stimulator would be best for improving lines and skin firmness. They are also not as effective for static lines (lines at rest) as it works best on lines you see when you move your face.

Anti wrinkle injections last around 3-4 months and will wear off over time. So your lines don’t come back overnight it will gradually return to normal. It is ideal to wait at least 3 months before retreating.
